Job Description
Astute's Renewables team is partnering with an Operations and Maintenance specialist for utility-scale ground-mounted solar farms across the UK and Europe. We are working together to recruit a Civils Operative to support the team in maintaining and managing solar farm sites.
This role offers a salary of up to 28,000 depending on experience, along with a company vehicle and fuel card.

Responsibilities and duties of the Civils Operative role
Reporting to the Civils Operations Manager you will:
- Work closely with the Civils Operations Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day running of civils operations.
- Operate machinery and plant equipment as directed.
- Carry out general labouring duties on-site as required.
- Perform Banksman duties.
- Report on Civils PMMs and corrective works.
- Provide ad hoc support across other duties as requested by the Civils Manager.
- Work in line with the company Integrated Management System to achieve quality, health & safety, and environmental objectives.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- LANTRA or equivalent qualifications in tractor driving, bush cutting, and City & Guilds weed spraying (preferred).
- Previous experience in a similar civils or site operative role.
- A practical, proactive, and "can-do" mindset.
Personal skills
The Civils Operative role would suit someone who is:
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Flexible to travel to sites, including occasional overnight stays.
