The Clinical and Quality Portfolio Lead Pharmacist will provide strategic and professional leadership for the clinical and quality portfolio and wider medicines optimisation function.
As a senior member of the ICB's medicines optimisation function, the postholder will lead the development and delivery of a system-wide approach to safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines. They will work across organisational boundaries and drive high-impact initiatives that improve patient outcomes, reduce unwarranted variation, and ensure best value from medicines.

The post holder will be a key member of the pharmacy and medicines optimisation senior leadership team. They will support the development of the pharmacy and medicines optimisation shared system wide strategy and operational plan. Linking with national policy, regional and local priorities it delivers maximum value and outcomes for patients, the local population and the NHS.

Job responsibilitiesKey Functional Responsibilities:
They will lead assigned portfolios of work for the ICB.
The post holder will through joint working with partners and place-based teams; develop and deliver the Integrating Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation (IPMO) agenda.
Working in collaboration with partners including: LTC programme leads, ICB contract, quality/performance, finance, medicines optimisation teams, NHS providers and other organisations to support the integration of the clinical and quality programmes.
Lead transformation workstreams for pharmacy/medicines optimisation across the IC S.
Work in collaboration with national, regional and GM to develop GM pharmacy/medicines optimisation workstreams.
Work with cluster lead pharmacists and place based teams to ensure delivery of the Medicines Optimisation Strategy and Operational Plan.
Support the GM Chief Pharmacist in quality and performance issues relating to pharmacy/medicines optimisation services
Provide specialist advice and prepare strategic reports and briefings for directors, regional teams and stakeholders.
In depth analysis, interpretation and production of complex and multiple reports.
They will manage assigned members of the team and deputise for the Chief Pharmacist/Deputy Chief Pharmacist when required.
