Senior Planner - HS2
London
12 month renewable contract Inside IR35
Role Purpose
- Assist in Management of planning function of a Sub Lot.
- Assist in the production and maintenance of working programme.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Clause 32 monthly programme.
- Review and assist in the production of detailed Sub Lot programmes (MS Project).
- Ensure sub-contractors issue their Clause 31 and Clause 32 programmes.
- Monitor progress against plan and review with Sub Lot leads.
- Liaise with implementation team of logic and communicate amendments.
- Assist in the production of process maps with Planning Manager.
- Production of 'As Built' data.
- To establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, senior management, partners and delivery teams
Accountabilities
- To establish and implement the planning responsibilities document.
- Coordinate and update programmes with performance during the Stage 2 period.
- Ensure compliance to HS2 requirements.
- Contribute to developing risk and opportunities and QSRA and QCRA analysis.
- Support the production and delivery of the Performance Measurement Baseline and Performance Measurement Updates
- Ensuring that the Programme captures scope management and aligns with BIM.
- Capture and integrate current and forecast programme, budget, cost, and risk at asset and sub-asset level
- Promote best practice and innovation
- Assist with the development of all planning and project control staff to reach their full potential
- Assist with coaching and supporting of project control and planning staff, as required
- Ensure that appropriate lean, coordinated and visual performance metrics are set up to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve performance
- Effectively using IT and systems as a key enabler for gathering and timely and accurate reporting on project performance.
- Reporting performance (Earned Value, KPI's, cost account level), all in accordance with the HS2 procedures during the Stage 2 period.
- Provide support, as required to the BIM Co-ordinators to meet the project requirements.

Essential Experience
- Computer literacy:
- Primavera (all versions)
- Microsoft Project
- Word/Excel/Powerpoint
- TiLOS (favourable but not essential)
- Synchro (favourable but not essential)
- Report writing skills
- Substantial site experience of which some must be in relevant disciplines and some as senior discipline planner.
- Presentation skills.
- Aptitude for logic and attention to detail.
- Experience of planning & project control services within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry
- Understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications
- Good understanding of various methods of project controls, planning and performance reporting
- An understanding in risk and opportunity management
- An understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement
- Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements
- Good knowledge of civil engineering construction methods
- Good knowledge of linear works planning
Desirable Experience
- A degree, HND or similar equivalent in a relevant subject is desirable, as is Professional membership of one or more of the following: RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE
