We are seeking a Paint Technician to work on the production of lifeboats.
This role covers prepping, painting, filling and fairing GRP/composite components to a high, consistent standard in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sanding, abrading and cleaning GRP/composite surfaces
- Accurate masking
- Checking for and identifying minor imperfections before paint application
- Applying primers, topcoats and marine grade coatings (brush, roller or spray)
- Mixing/applying fillers to achieve the correct profile
- Sanding and fairing surfaces smooth before final finishing
- Ensuring high quality, consistent finishes
General Duties
- Supporting production output and build schedules
- Maintaining tools, equipment and workspace
- Following all health & safety procedures including correct PPE and chemical handling
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in marine, automotive, aerospace or similar finishing industries
- Competent in prepping, painting, filling and fairing
- GRP/composite experience is advantageous
- Strong eye for detail and quality workmanship

Rates & contract info
- PAYE - 16.00 - 17.50 per hour
- Holiday Pay - 1.93 - 2.11 per hour (can be accrued or advanced)
- Umbrella Company - 21.43 - 23.44 per hour
- 6 month contract (long term sick cover)
- 42 hour week as standard
