About the team

HFs Credit Hire Team handle insurance cases where replacement vehicles have been hired on a deferred credit basis. The team investigate individuals, credit hire companies and wider connections to determine the genuine nature of claims and identify potential fraud indicators.

Its an engaging, friendly and highly skilled department where collaboration is key. Team members pride themselves on achieving excellent results for clients and supporting each other professionally and personally.

We also encourage everyone to take part in wider firm initiatives, including our engagement committee, client events, charity work and volunteering opportunities.

Whatyoullbe doing

As an Associate/Solicitor within our Credit Hire team, you will:

• Manage your own litigated caseload of fast-track and/or intermediate-track credit hire claims
• Handle some of the departments highest-value and most technically complex matters, including appeals, strategic litigation and elements of credit hire fraud
• Review quantum, value general and special damages, and prepare case plans
• Conduct telephone negotiations and liaise with third-party solicitors, insurers, own clients and lay clients
• Draft applications, offers, orders, directions and other legal documents
• Attend telephone conferences and applications
• Support the supervision and development of junior team members when required
• Use the case management system effectively to manage time and maintain accurate MI
• Work proactively to improve efficiency and contribute to the wider teams success
• Ensure compliance with CPR, SRA Code of Conduct, Solicitors Accounts Rules and client SLA requirements
• Receive ongoing supervision and day-to-day support from your line manager
• Provide client MI as required by your Head of Department

What do I need?

• Credit Hire experience
• Defendant experience within insurance or credit hire
• Proven experience running a litigated caseload (fast track and/or multi-track) in a Solicitor, Litigation Executive or Paralegal capacity
• Strong client-centric approach and excellent client care skills
• Experience communicating effectively with clients
• Ability to run an effective diary system
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent organisation and written skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to SLAs
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
