Summary

  • This is a 2-3 month contract with a local authority, focused on supporting and managing the delivery of Housing Direct Repairs services. The role is crucial in ensuring that responsive repairs are logged, prioritized, and processed efficiently, while also contributing to continuous service improvement through customer feedback.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate repair orders within the responsive repairs system, ensuring correct processing and assignment to appropriate teams or contractors.
  • Diagnose and assess repair requirements, using effective problem-solving skills to determine the correct trade, priority, and action.
  • Provide excellent customer service through clear, honest, and professional communication with the public and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from customer satisfaction feedback and contributing to service enhancements.
  • Collaborate as part of the Business Liaison Team, contributing to overall team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage own workload in a high-pressure environment, demonstrating initiative, independence, and strong organizational skills.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by showing awareness and commitment to the protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Essential Experience Required
  • Knowledge of the main issues affecting social housing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a responsive repairs environment and familiarity with housing management systems.
  • Experience in building maintenance/repairs within a busy operational environment.
  • Proven ability to process repair requests accurately and under tight deadlines.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • Strong repair diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills, with experience dealing with the public and managing difficult situations.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week
  • The role requires a DBS check.
