Graduate Teacher Assistants

English / Mathematics / Humanities

The School seeks to appoint enthusiastic, intellectually curious and committed graduates to join their English, Mathematics and Humanities Departments from September 2026. These posts are ideal for those considering a future in teaching or looking for a rewarding year immersed in the life of a leading co educational boarding school.

Set in one of the most beautiful school campuses in the country, the school is a thriving HMC boarding and day school of around 650 pupils aged 13-18. Their pupils are engaged, positive and ambitious, and their staff community is warm, collaborative and forward thinking. Graduate Teachers play a full part in school life while benefiting from a significantly reduced timetable, structured mentoring and internal teacher training.

Successful candidates will:

  • Teach a reduced timetable within a lively and supportive department
  • Receive internal training, mentoring and regular professional development
  • Contribute to the pastoral life of the school, including tutoring and evening duties
  • Support the co curricular programme (sport, activities, societies, trips, music, drama)
  • Embrace the opportunities and demands of a busy boarding environment
  • Assist with lesson cover outside their department

These roles may suit current final year students or recent graduates in a relevant academic discipline. No teaching qualification is required; enthusiasm, adaptability, reliability and a willingness to get involved are essential.
