Senior Procurement Category Officer - Construction

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Senior Procurement Category Officer - Construction on a 6 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

• Represent the Head of Procurement and Commercialisation, in ensuring the proper administration of procurement function including compliance with professional standards, statutory responsibilities, procurement regulations and standing orders.
• Responsible for managing existing procurement systems, tools and processes, such as e-procurement system in line with development in EU and UK Procurement Regulations.
• To prepare report and briefings on matters relating to procurement policy imperatives to demonstrate the impact made by the client's procurement
• Oversee the procurement spend analysis programme to ensure quarterly and annual reporting is completed in a timely and efficient manner to meet corporate reporting timescales.
• Lead in developing and implementing compliant procurement and contract monitoring processes to achieve best value for money in procurement.
• Deliver guidance on the corporate approach to procurement, including providing training and advice to managers, officers and external partners.
• To develop, maintain and monitor key performance indicators set by the Head of Procurement and Commercialisation to achieve continuous improvement of service.
