Job Description
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and assess compliance risks, providing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Oversee compliance training programmes to ensure staff awareness and understanding.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Advise on regulatory changes and their impact on the organisation's operations.
- Lead and manage the compliance team to achieve departmental goals.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Compliance should have:
- Proven track record in UK compliance, ideally with experience of operating in the capacity of SMF16 in a wholesale or investment banking firm.
- The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre with a detailed working knowledge of the FCA and PRA handbooks and industry guidance and best practice.
- Excellent knowledge of the regulatory environment in the UK.
- A sound knowledge of banking products and business.
- Ability to create robust systems and processes and prepare high-quality written documents.
- Highly effective communication skills (written and spoken) and ability to engage and influence others.
- Prior experience of managing a team
- Professional compliance qualification preferred, but not required
