Job Description
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and assess compliance risks, providing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Oversee compliance training programmes to ensure staff awareness and understanding.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  • Prepare and deliver compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Advise on regulatory changes and their impact on the organisation's operations.
  • Lead and manage the compliance team to achieve departmental goals.
The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Compliance should have:

  • Proven track record in UK compliance, ideally with experience of operating in the capacity of SMF16 in a wholesale or investment banking firm.
  • The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre with a detailed working knowledge of the FCA and PRA handbooks and industry guidance and best practice.
  • Excellent knowledge of the regulatory environment in the UK.
  • A sound knowledge of banking products and business.
  • Ability to create robust systems and processes and prepare high-quality written documents.
  • Highly effective communication skills (written and spoken) and ability to engage and influence others.
  • Prior experience of managing a team
  • Professional compliance qualification preferred, but not required
