Role: General Manager

Location: Near Carlisle, Cumbria

Employer: Historic Estate & Boutique Venue

Salary / Rate of pay: 55,000 - 65,000 per year

What's involved?

The General Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring financial sustainability while supporting the venue's commitment to hosting reconciliation programmes. Key Requirements:

  • Significant Leadership Experience: Proven track record as a General Manager (or equivalent) with full P&L responsibility for an independent boutique venue or estate.
  • Service Versatility: Deep understanding of high-end culinary standards and the ability to adapt service for both formal and informal events.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
  • Personal Attributes: A mission-oriented, resilient, and warm leader who understands the unique dynamics of a family-owned/custodianship business model.
  • Passion: A genuine interest in peacebuilding or mission-driven work is strongly preferred.
