Role: Finance Assistant
Type: Interim 3-month contract (possible extension)
Salary: 18 per hour to 22.50 per hour UMB inside IR35
Hybrid: Ideally 1 or 2 days a week onsite
Location: Leicestershire

Sellick Partnership is partnering with a local government organisation to recruit a Finance Assistant on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance function and play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.

The responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will include:

  • Supporting the Finance team across a broad range of activities, including financial reporting, data input and analysis
  • Assisting with budget monitoring, annual budget preparation and year-end processes
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reconciliations
  • Supporting the administration and tracking of insurance-related financial matters
  • Contributing to the preparation of statutory and management information returns
  • Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and engaging positively with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant role will have:

  • At least two years' experience working in a finance or accounts-based environment
  • AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent accounting knowledge
  • Strong IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with financial systems and handling high volumes of data accurately
  • A methodical and organised approach with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
