Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming secondary school in Derby is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is seeking consistent, school-based experience rather than short-term or day-to-day cover.
The school provides a structured and supportive learning environment, where clear routines and collaborative staff teams ensure Teaching Assistants play a vital role in pupils' progress, engagement, and overall development.
Role
Support pupils during lessons across a variety of subjects
Work one-to-one and in small groups to reinforce learning
Assist teachers with classroom activities and behaviour routines
Encourage focus, confidence, and positive behaviour
Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements
Experience working with young people (e.g. , school, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care)
A patient, reliable, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Interest in long-term work within education
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
