Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) cares for the population in Harrogate and the local area, as well as across North Yorkshire, Leeds and parts of the North East.

We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced Chief Digital Officer to join our diverse and ambitious organisation. The successful postholder will lead and deliver digital transformation across our clinical and non-clinical services to enable the delivery of our organisational purpose and True North ambitions. The role requires a highly skilled and focused individual with the ability to influence at a senior level. The role will be an advocate for Digital Services as a key enabler of improvements across our clinical services.

Main duties of the job
  • Working with the 3 Heads of Department, the post holder will ensure high levels of efficiency and effectiveness to enable the Trust meets all internal and external requirements and maximise the opportunities presented through the introduction of innovative new technologies.
  • Reporting to the Medical Director, you will work in partnership to deliver the Trust's digital strategy and improve the operational capabilities of the service using in-depth knowledge and experience.
  • The postholder will be instrumental in embedding a culture of digital maturity, continuous learning, and system leadership, ensuring every level of the organisation uses digital tools and services to deliver compassionate care, drive sustainable change, and improve outcomes for service users, carers and staff.

Person Specification Essential and Desirable
  • Educated to Masters level or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant role.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Proven managerial and leadership experience level within the NHS.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Experience of delivery of Digital Strategy in Healthcare.
  • Experience of delivering improvements in HIMSS maturity in an NHS Acute Trust.
  • Digital programme leadership experience including recent practical experience of managing large scale projects including EPR.
  • Experience of planning and managing risk in a digital project and programme environment.
  • Qualification in leadership and management in health and Social Care or equivalent experience
  • Qualification in digital services or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of leading and delivering large scale programmes in the NHS environment.
  • Experience of leading teams in key workstreams - EPR implementation, digital strategy and delivery, cyber security, patient systems.
