Job Description

We re recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-growing manufacturing business. This is a hands-on, commercially influential role, sitting close to engineering, procurement, and operations. You ll play a key part in cost control, contract management, and capital project delivery as the business continues to scale.

For a Quantity Surveyor who wants broader exposure than traditional construction and the chance to influence real commercial decisions, this is a standout opportunity.

As Quantity Surveyor, you ll be responsible for managing cost and commercial performance across manufacturing-led capital and operational projects, including:

  • Full commercial management of manufacturing and industrial projects (CAPEX and OPEX)
  • Cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Preparation and management of contracts, valuations, and final accounts
  • Supporting procurement activities, including tender analysis and supplier negotiations
  • Managing change control, variations, and risk across live projects
  • Working closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to drive cost efficiency
  • Providing clear commercial reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement in cost control and commercial processes

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (manufacturing, industrial, construction, or engineering environments)
  • Strong commercial and cost management capability
  • Experience working with contracts and suppliers in a project-based environment
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with non-commercial stakeholders
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach suited to a fast-moving business
  • Strong Excel and commercial reporting skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
  • RICS accreditation desirable but not essential
