Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Maths SEN Teacher to work full time from February half term until July in a specialist SEN setting. This role involves teaching Maths at GCSE level, working closely with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be delivering tailored Maths support through a combination of 1:1 sessions and small group teaching (up to 6 students), helping learners build confidence, resilience, and achieve academic progress.
As a Maths SEN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging GCSE Maths lessons adapted to SEN and SEMH needs
Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups (up to 6)
Assess, track, and monitor student progress
Provide clear, constructive feedback
Create a calm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience teaching Maths up to GCSE level
Experience working with students with SEMH needs or within an SEN setting
A patient, positive, and resilient approach to teaching
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Your Maths expertise will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their GCSE goals within a structured and nurturing SEN environment.
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
A full 10-year career history
A minimum of two professional references, including your most recent employer
The legal right to work in the UK
