As the Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient operation of all activities in the laboratory including health & safety and quality.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician also include:
- Perform routine and non-routine quality control analysis and interpretation using an array of equipment (GC, GCMS, XRF, IC, Bomb calorimetry, Titrations, Karl Fisher, Hydrometers and more).
- Sign off and dispatch materials to customers, ensuring required specification is met.
- Authorise the receipt of loads onto site.
- Perform data entry and filing of reports to ensure that accurate analytical data is presented in the correct format and in a timely fashion to all relevant parties.
- Carry out safety critical tasks / analysis required as per procedure dictates.
- Maintain good housekeeping & cleaning standards within the laboratory.
- To aid wastewater management.
- Liaise and communicate results effectively and efficiently to other departments.
- Perform calibrations and QC checks of lab equipment.
- Ensure that non-conforming materials are communicated effectively.
- Undertake project work to improve laboratory and plant processes.
- Promote a high standard of health and safety within the laboratory.
- Reporting of near miss accidents and incidents.
- Make relevant continuous improvement suggestions to supervisors / management and monitor equipment performance.
