Our client's Construction Team in Preston is seeking a talented Solicitor (Associate/Senior Associate) with proven construction law experience to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in the team's growth and development.
The OpportunityManage a busy caseload of construction matters, both contentious and non-contentious, with immediate responsibility for existing work
Advise clients across the construction industry, including contractors, developers, architects, engineers, local councils, and homeowners
Draft, review, and negotiate construction documentation (contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees, etc.)
Advise on JCT, NEC, IChemE, and FIDIC contracts, as well as procurement and risk management
Handle disputes: breach of contract, delay & disruption, loss & expense, adjudication, arbitration, and litigation in the Technology & Construction Court
Collaborate with colleagues across service lines (commercial property, corporate, commercial)
Support, supervise, and develop junior team members
Contribute to business development, knowledge sharing, and team objectives
Write blogs/LinkedIn posts and participate in client training or seminars (optional)
Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in construction law
Experience managing own caseload with minimal supervision
Strong technical expertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters (desirable)
Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts (desirable)
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
Commercially aware, proactive, and confident in client-facing situations
Proven business development ability and track record of building networks
Ability to collaborate and support team development
Highly competitive salary £48,000 - £60,000 (DOE) plus bonus
