Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a secondary school in Daventry to recruit a motivated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to support secondary-aged students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about inspiring young people and delivering engaging, high-quality science education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering well-structured Science lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and practical understanding of scientific concepts. You may be teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, depending on your specialism and experience. The school is keen to hear from both ECTs and experienced teachers, and will offer appropriate support and guidance.
You will be expected to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that all students-regardless of ability-are supported to achieve their full potential. This includes adapting lessons to meet the needs of learners with SEND, providing differentiated activities, and monitoring progress through effective assessment and feedback.
The role involves contributing to departmental planning, attending meetings where required, and maintaining high standards of behaviour in line with the school's policies. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students are essential.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Science at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science
Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
Hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS
