Lead Consultant - Workday Finance - UK - Business Unit: ORC - Competitive compensation (including bonus).

Job Description

Workday Finance Lead Consultant is expected to be instrumental in leveraging the Workday Financial Management system to drive efficient and accurate financial operations. You will collaborate closely with finance, accounting, IT and other cross functional teams to optimize our Workday financial solutions, ensure data integrity and provide actionable financial insights.

Responsibilities
  • Workday System Administration & Configuration: Manage, configure and maintain WFM modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Projects, Adaptive Planning, and more); design, build and test configurations, analyze release notes, troubleshoot issues and coordinate escalations with Workday Support and IT.
  • Financial Process Optimization & Support: Provide end user support, gather business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, identify process improvements and automation opportunities, conduct UAT, and create training materials and documentation.
  • Reporting, Analytics & Data Integrity: Develop custom financial reports, dashboards and KPIs, perform financial data analysis, conduct data audits, and work with IT to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
  • Project Management & Collaboration: Participate in implementation and enhancement projects, lead design sessions and configuration discussions, collaborate with HR, IT Security, Risk Management, and Integration teams, manage scope and client expectations, and mentor junior staff.
Required
  1. Minimum 9 years of experience as a Workday/ERP Financial Consultant.
Preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles and financial management practices (e.g., Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report).
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize ERP systems, specifically Workday.
  • Workday Financials certification (e.g., Record to Report, Procure to Pay) highly desired.
  • Proficiency in financial data analysis and the ability to generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Workday Security is a plus.
