Job Description

Director of Product and Commercial, Travel Sector, North West England / Hybrid. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a commercial astute, people leader to join this well-established and reputable travel company company in north west of England.

Reporting directly to the managing director with responsibilities for a sizeable team, this role will be tasked with driving and optimising commercial success through effective trading, commercial and product strategies.

Director of Product and Commercial Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and growth of the business with a focus on trading and pricing to maximise margins and market share.
  • Lead a diverse and high performing team to achieve clearly define objectives, ensuring they feel engaged, motivated and valued by the business.
  • Drive the development of new products and destinations that align with brand strategy and customer demands.
  • Utilise data to make informed decisions around pricing and yield management.
  • Develop supplier relationships with DMC's, hoteliers, cruise lines etc to optimise commercial advantage and service levels.
  • Continually enhance operational processes and procedures.
  • Represent the business at industry events/conferences/trade shows.


Director of Product and Commercial Skills Required

  • A track record of leadership roles within commercial, trading or product gained in the travel sector.
  • Deep experience of margin optimisation, pricing and yield management.
  • Highly analytical with an ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Experience leading and developing sizeable teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • A successful track record of developing new products, supplier management and contract negotiation.


Director of or Product and Commercial Additional Details

  • A highly competitive salary dependant on experience, to be discussed on application.
  • Regular hybrid working out of the companies head office in the north west of England.
  • Some requirements for travel or attending supplier meetings and industry events.
