Location: North London
Contract Duration: 12 months initially
Pay Rates:
Umbrella: 23.49 per hour (including 15% shift allowance)
PAYE: 19.72 per hour (including 15% shift allowance)
London Rail Allowance: 333.33 per month (paid after 3rd month)
Shift Pattern:
Initial Day shifts (first 4 weeks)
Then a rotating pattern of Days & Lates
Nights to be confirmed
We are looking for a Production Technician to join a busy and well-equipped rolling stock maintenance depot in North London. Working as part of an experienced Engineering team, you will play a key role in the diagnostics, production, modification and fault rectification of rail vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability and performance standards are met.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with a mechanical or electrical background who wants to develop their rail industry experience in a structured depot environment.
Carry out diagnostics, production activities and modifications on rolling stock assets
Perform basic fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
Accurately complete all maintenance, production and fault records in line with procedures
Interpret and work from technical drawings, manuals and publications
Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times
Correct use and care of tools, equipment and PPE
Produce clear, detailed and technically accurate reports
Background in a mechanical, electrical or engineering production environment
Previous experience in fault finding (rail experience desirable but not essential)
Strong understanding of Health & Safety, including:
Manual handling
COSHH
Bio-hazards
Confident using computers and digital systems
Ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
Long-term 12-month contract with stable shift patterns
