Hays Health & Safety are excited to be working with a leading global manufacturer with a strong presence in the North Wales/Cheshire region to find an experienced EHS Manager to join their expanding site. The site has recently undergone a major investment programme, with further expansion underway, making this a pivotal moment to influence the future of safety, wellbeing, and environmental standards across the operation.
The Role
As the EHS Manager, you will lead a team responsible for driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and internal standards. You'll play a key role in shaping the site's strategic approach to health, safety, and environmental performance, while also supporting employee wellbeing through occupational health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the EHS team to deliver site-wide initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation, corporate policies, and ISO14001 standards
- Act as the site lead for audits, inspections, and emergency response planning
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through training, engagement, and performance tracking
- Collaborate with Occupational Health professionals to support employee health and wellbeing
- Represent the site in global forums and liaise with external regulatory bodies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience leading an EHS team in a similar role to achieve success
- Background in a Manufacturing Facility
- Strong working knowledge of UK EHS legislation and best practices
- Experience implementing and managing ISO14001 or equivalent systems
