Job Title AVP, Projects Lead Job Description The Team The Division Business Services Corporate Actuarial (DCA) team is responsible for regular actuarial and capital reporting to senior management, Boards and for regulatory submissions. Our DCA function comprises of 5 integrated teams: Capital Management & Plan, Actuarial Systems & Projects, Global Valuation, Actuarial Analytics & Insights (Protection & Capital Solutions) and Actuarial Analytics & Insights (Savings and Retirement). The Role This is an AVP role within our Division Centre Corporate Actuarial (DCA) team, located in London and reporting to the VP, Actuarial Projects & Actuarial Systems.We are implementing an Asset Optimisation tool using FIS technologies- Adaptive , Prophet , and Prophet Enterprise - to industrialize funded pricing and strengthen ALM analytics across pricing competitiveness, capital efficiency, and risk oversight. The programme is expected to run 9-12 months, with a focused delivery horizon for implementation and roll out.The Project Lead, with specialised support, will deliver the actuarial design, implementation, testing, and business adoption of the Asset Optimisation toolset within our systems landscape across the front and back office. You will be accountable for the end to end workflow (Tyche Adaptive/Asset Optimizer Prophet/Prophet Enterprise Tyche) and ensure controls, documentation, and BAU readiness for all business users. Responsibilities Actuarial design & integration Working with the Funded Pricing Team to define and approve actuarial methodology for portfolio optimization, reinvestment/disinvestment strategies (including derivatives), and asset liability interactions used in funded pricing, consistent with programme objectives. Lead the integration across Adaptive / IRM Optimizer (APT) and Prophet / Prophet Enterprise , including data specifications, constraints, configuration inputs, optimized asset outputs, and BEL production (PRJ/CSV) for downstream risk/UI and reporting. Ensure consistent assumptions, spreads, reinvestment logic, and scenario agility within the unified actuarial workflow, leveraging Prophet ALS/PE modules where appropriate. Validation, testing & controls Design and execute test strategies (unit, system, UAT) for optimization runs and liability projections; establish reconciliation checks between optimized asset sets and BEL results. Embed risk & control frameworks (RAID, RACI, governance packs), ensuring high quality documentation and audit readiness. Stakeholder, vendor & delivery leadership Act as the actuarial lead across PMO, AST/CA, R&D, Finance, IT, and FIS vendor teams; drive decisions through design forums and SteerCo's. Translate actuarial decisions into clear user stories, configuration requirements, and testable acceptance criteria; manage trade offs to protect scope, quality, and controls. Transition to BAU Plan and execute the knowledge transfer, procedures, and handover to Actuarial Systems/Corporate Actuarial; define operating procedures, run books, and support models for the post go live state. What We Are Looking For Qualifications & Experience Substantial post-qualification experience in ALM tooling. Project Management experience Self-starter with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload. Strong collaboration and influencing skills. In-depth understanding of the life insurance industry and Corporate Actuarial function. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with various functions and local teams. Experience in designing and implementing processes and standards. Actuarial background with strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with actuarial modelling software (Tyche / AXIS) and financial reporting systems is a plus. Key Skills & Behaviours Technical proficiency and awareness of current industry issues.
