The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer?
- Support multi-project manufacturing activities within a unit and missile assembly environment.
- Compile, review, and update detailed Manufacturing Instructions.
- Design, commission, and prove associated manufacturing tooling.
- Support industrial validation activities, including FMEAs, FAIs, and related processes.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process.
- Implement route card changes resulting from rework or process improvements.
- Manage configuration control through the embodiment of design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.
- Support the Non-Conformance process using SAP.
What are we looking for in our next Manufacturing Engineer?
- A formal technical Engineering or Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 / TR23 / TR21, plus Level 3 (ONC) OR A HNC or equivalent further education qualification with relevant engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working within an engineering discipline.
- Ability to interpret engineering design drawings and translate them into clear Manufacturing Build Instructions for both skilled and semi-skilled operators.
- Experience in electronic sub-assembly manufacture through to full system-level builds.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of assembling small or miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems.
- Strong team-working skills with the ability to contribute positively in a collaborative environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to recognise and respond to customer requirements.
- Good understanding of company processes and procedures, and the discipline to work within them.
- Clear and effective communication skills, capable of engaging across multiple levels of the organisation.
