We are excited to support a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Rubery, Birmingham, in their search for a skilled Year 5 Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is perfect for someone confident in supporting pupils with SEND, delivering targeted interventions, and working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child achieves their potential.
ResponsibilitiesProvide in-class support within a Year 5 classroom alongside the class teacher
Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND, including small-group and 1:1 sessions
Assist with intervention programmes to help close learning gaps
Live mark pupils' work to provide immediate feedback and identify further support needs
Support keep-up and catch-up sessions in the afternoons
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school expectations
Monitor and report on pupil progress to the teacher and SENCo
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent degree)
Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Key Stage Two primary setting
Experience supporting children with SEND, including those with EHCPs
Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies
Experience delivering small-group or 1:1 interventions
Ability to live mark and adapt support in real time
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to learning support
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and SENCo
