Up to 40,000 + Overtime Days 37.5 hours 25 days holiday + bank holidays
A leading manufacturer of precision machinery is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their build and commissioning team. This role involves assembling bespoke machinery from detailed drawings, working with a variety of mechanical components, and contributing to full machine builds.
The Role
Build and assemble precision taping and winding machinery
Mechanical assembly involving plain bearings, linear bearings, rails and shafts
Installation of rolling element bearings, gearboxes, motors and pneumatic systems
Work with chain and sprocket drives
Use a wide range of hand tools and workshop equipment including lathes, millers, pedestal drills and grinders
Support full new machine builds and bespoke machinery projects
Work from technical drawings and engineering documentation
Use measuring equipment such as micrometers and similar precision tools
Experience and Skills Required
Mechanical fitting or machine-building background
Experience with both small precision equipment and larger machinery
Ability to assemble machinery from drawings
Previous work on bespoke or special-purpose machinery advantageous
Skilled in the use of measuring tools and workshop equipment
Training and Team Structure
On-the-job training provided

Team consists of four fitters supported by three commissioning engineers
Package and Hours
Salary: Up to 40,000
Hours: 37.5 per week
Mon-Thurs: 08:00-16:30
Fri: 08:00-13:30
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
Overtime:
1.25x agreed overtime
1.5x on Saturdays
2x on Sundays (rare)
