ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
Build and promote a strong culture of commercial awareness within the project team
Ensure compliance with company governance and procedures
Produce internal and client-facing commercial reports
Prepare valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation
Compile cost reports and ensure contractual compliance
Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts from requisitions through to final accounts
Lead on subcontract and material procurement schedules
Administer contracts, including change management and risk identification
Apply cost allocation and coding to meet internal/external requirements
Measure works to standard methods
Engage positively with client representatives
Support, mentor and manage junior commercial staff
ABOUT YOU
Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
Strong civil engineering and/or rail background (rail experience preferred)
Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor
Professional membership (RICS / ICES) or working towards chartership
Sound understanding of NEC contracts and standard methods of measurement
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites when required will be required
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Up to £65,000 basic salary with a discretionary bonus
