Salary: £38,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

My client is a long-established and successful contractor in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. They are seeking a proactive, reliable Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a major site in Cambridge.

This role is ideal for an engineer who is confident with planned preventative maintenance and routine service work, with occasional support on reactive breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF units, water chillers and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults, repair equipment where possible, or recommend appropriate remedial action.
• Complete all required paperwork and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Work independently or as part of a small onsite team.
• Participate in the emergency call out rota (one allocated day per week under the site rota system).

Qualifications Essential

• City & Guilds 2079 (F Gas)
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• 18th Edition Electrical
• IPAF
• PASMA

Experience & Skills

• Good experience working on a broad range of air conditioning systems (split, multi split, VRV/VRF).
• Experience with refrigeration systems, including water chillers.
• Strong fault finding ability and good general electrical knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills-both customer facing and written.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
