Job Description
- Create commercial procurement strategies to support ELT & Directorates to deliver their services in the most effective and efficient way whilst ensuring strategies align with the organisation.
- Pro-actively seek potential cost savings, innovative opportunities and efficiencies, working up ideas into commercially viable business cases and following through to completion with the most appropriate commercial strategy for success.
- Work with ELT and Senior Leaders to develop commercial strategies, playing a leading part in their assigned directorate(s) and contributing equally at senior management and Director level daily.
- Ensure compliance with the organisation's commercial policies and manage any areas of non compliance.
- Utilise data analysis and metrics to proactively develop commercial strategies to deliver best value.
- Manage complex pre tender and tender processes including supplier selection, internal stakeholder management, conflict resolution, documentation, contract negotiation, contract implementation and commercial evaluation. Negotiate to maximise cost savings, ensure robust commercial practices, security of supply, service, quality and delivery.
- Negotiate and influence at all levels, specifically at ELT and Senior Leader level, including suppliers, long standing third party partners and other stakeholders.
- Challenge the status quo when better commercial opportunities exist and work with the department to implement change.
The Successful Applicant
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in contract management and supplier negotiations.
- Ability to analyse data and make informed procurement decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
