SEMH Teaching Assistant - Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

Pay: £460 - £500 per week

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, behaviour mentors, and pastoral teams to support students who have experienced challenges within mainstream education. Your role will be vital in creating a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment that helps pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards learning.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering one-to-one and small-group SEMH support
- Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Helping to deliver engaging, practical learning activities
- Building strong, trusted relationships with pupils
- Supporting behaviour plans and targeted interventions
We're looking for:
- Is patient, resilient, and confident working with challenging behaviour
- Has experience supporting SEMH needs or working within a PRU (desirable but not essential)
- Can build rapport quickly while maintaining clear boundaries
- Ability to commute to Luton
- Is passionate about the education and training sector and supporting vulnerable young people
- Remains calm and positive under pressure
