The Role

As a Police Station Accredited Crime Paralegal, you'll be the first point of contact for clients in custody, providing essential legal advice and representation at the police station. You'll also support solicitors in managing ongoing criminal matters, preparing case files, and liaising with key agencies including the police, CPS, and courts.


Key Responsibilities

Attend police stations (both in person and remotely) to represent and advise clients following arrest or detention.

Prepare detailed attendance notes, case summaries, and documentation for solicitors and counsel.

Assist with ongoing casework in magistrates' and Crown Court matters.

Ensure full compliance with LAA, SRA, and firm-specific policies.

Participate in on-call rotas, with enhanced pay for unsocial hours.


Requirements

Police Station Accreditation (PST) - essential.

Proven experience advising clients at the police station and handling criminal matters.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.

Flexibility to cover out-of-hours calls (rota-based).

Full UK driving licence and access to transport (advantageous).
