Product Safety Engineer

Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Product Safety Engineer to join their team on a contractual basis in Glascoed, South Wales.

• Production of documentary evidence to support the production of a Safety and Environmental Case (SEC).
• Creating and maintaining product Hazard Logs.
• Contributing to the business requirement to deliver conforming product.
• Undertaking safety reviews of engineering designs to ensure compliance with the Product Safety and Environment Management Framework, business policies, procedures and associated management plans.
• Provide support and advice to the Design Organisation on matters relating to product safety for projects and bids.
• Undertaking a range of techniques for conducting Hazard Identification, Analysis and Risk Assessment, for example FMEAs, FTAs.

• Experience as a Safety Engineer within the defence sector
• Strong understanding of safety management principles and practices
• Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards
• Proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment techniques
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Experience of Def Stan 00-056 and DSA 03.OME (formerly JSP 520)
