Amazon is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This group maintains the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS, ensuring the data center's MEP operates at high availability while delivering first-class customer service to teams within the data centers.
As the Data Center Chief Engineer (CE), you will ensure that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency. As the Chief Engineer you will manage small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion, coordinating with engineering, automation, processing, and finance teams in local and global settings. You will create and deliver key milestones, obtain and track quotes for costs, and document project results for future implementation at other facilities. Projects aim to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs.
You will direct, train and support Engineering Operation Technicians in electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. You will implement site/equipment-specific training exercises. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
