Job Title: Cognos Reporting Developer
Location: Cardiff - hybrid 2-3 days onsite p/week ideally
Contract Type: Permanent

£30-35k + benefits

Overview:
We re looking for an experienced Cognos Reporting Developer to join our client s team. You ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics. The role is hands-on, working closely with business users to turn requirements into clear, accurate, and insightful reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Query Studio, etc.)

• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions

• Optimise report performance and troubleshoot issues

• Build reusable templates and standard reports for different business areas

• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting outputs

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with IBM Cognos (Report Studio, Query Studio, Cognos Analytics)

• Background in BI / reporting development, not just end-user reporting

• Good SQL skills and understanding of relational databases

• Experience building dashboards, prompts, and drill-down functionality

• Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience with data modelling or ETL tools

• Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
