HSE Advisor - Manufacturing Manchester Mon-Fri (37 hrs)
We're working with a leading manufacturing business based in Manchester that's looking to bring on an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor. This is a hands-on, site-based role reporting to the Head of HSEE, ideal for someone passionate about driving continuous HSE improvement in a fast-paced environment.
You'll be responsible for providing day-to-day HSE support, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards (45001, 14001, 50001). Great opportunity for someone from a manufacturing or engineering background looking to take ownership and grow within a stable business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSE support and guidance across the site
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training
- Maintain compliance with UK HSE legislation (e.g. COSHH, RIDDOR, PUWER)
- Support ISO systems (45001, 14001, 50001)
- Monitor HSE KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Support environmental audits, reporting, and A2 permit compliance
- Promote sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives
Skills & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
- HSE experience in manufacturing or engineering
- Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation
- Confident communicator with strong influencing skills
- Skilled in risk assessments, audits & incident investigations
Desirable:
- NEBOSH Diploma / TechIOSH or GradIOSH
- ISO systems experience (45001, 14001, 50001)
- Environmental/energy management knowledge
