Planning Engineer

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for a Planning Engineer to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Glasgow, Scotland.

The vital Planning Engineer role comes with a basic salary of 45,408 + up to 10% bonus + private medical + other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Maintenance Planning which will involve scheduling the sites planned and planned maintenance and project activities
• Lead weekly and daily planning process and meetings, issuing agreed maintenance plans for upcoming weeks
• Continuous development of the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Outage planning by bringing together the Engineer's scopes and reports into one outage scope or report
• Attend CDM and outage meetings
• Act as supervisor for the stores function of the facility ensuring that there are enough spares on site

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Ideally an NVQ Level 3 minimum qualification in an engineering discipline
• A formal health and safety qualification will be desirable

Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge

The Planning Engineer role would suit someone who has:

• Prior experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) including continuous development
• Prior experience working in a heavy process engineering environment (Power, Paper Mills, Steel, Cement, Petrochemical, etc)
• Experience with safe systems of work procedures (ssow)
• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers would be encouraged to apply as well
