Job Description

Futures are looking to appoint an estimator for our client based in the outskirts of Hull going through a period of sustained growth. The appointed Estimator will be commercially minded ensuring bottom line profitability, good at liaising with internal and external design teams, and have a recognised Construction or Engineering qualification. This is a key hire within the business, playing a key role in the pre-construction phase, working on both permanent and temporary build projects.

Estimator - Role and Responsibilities Construction / Fabrication / Project Manager / Site Visits

  • Collaborate with bid teams to develop competitive tenders
  • Review tender documentation including bill of quantities, architectural files, technical drawings & project specifications
  • Identify & assess potential risks associated with construction projects
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for build projects in commercial, education & industrial sectors
  • Manage pre-qualification, quality & pre-bid submissions

Estimator - Skills and Abilities Construction / Fabrication / Project Manager / Site Visits

  • In depth knowledge of construction processes, materials & industry best practices
  • Experience of estimating, pricing projects, tender process & winning competitive tenders
  • Experience of site work
  • 3-5+ years Estimator / Quantity Surveyor experience
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, quantity surveying or related engineering or construction field
  • Good written & oral communication skills able to present & explain estimates clearly to internal stakeholders & external clients
  • Full driving licence & happy with travel to site as appropriate
