Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to play a crucial role in our payroll team. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role suits a highly organized, quality-focused individual capable of meeting deadlines and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with clients to maintain employee data, ensuring strong relationships and exceptional service.
  2. Manage the entire payroll process, including RTI filing, pension uploads, and report generation.
  3. Maintain meticulous records and a robust document control system for accuracy and compliance.
  4. Stay updated with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence.
  5. Prepare month-end journals and reports for posting and audits.
  6. Prepare and submit CIS submissions.
  7. Train and oversee junior payroll team members.
Key Requirements
  1. Proven experience managing payroll for multiple clients, preferably in a practice or professional services setting.
  2. Ability to generate and interpret payroll reports, ensuring accuracy in earnings, deductions, taxes, and pensions.
  3. Excellent communication skills to explain complex payroll concepts clearly to clients.
  4. Strong attention to detail and efficiency in completing tasks.
Additional Requirements
  1. Deep knowledge of HMRC legislation and Pension Auto Enrolment.
  2. Understanding of confidentiality and data protection laws related to payroll.
  3. Strong computer literacy and numerical skills, familiarity with payroll software such as BrightPay is desirable.
