Job Description

We're seeking a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor - or an experienced QS ready for the next step - to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a landmark Midlands infrastructure scheme worth over 100 million.

Based from the project office, you'll take a lead role through procurement and delivery. In year one, you'll focus on securing subcontract packages, negotiating robust contracts, and managing commercial risk. As works progress, you'll oversee cost control, change management, and reporting to ensure the project's commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement and subcontract negotiations

  • Manage subcontractor performance and valuations

  • Oversee cost variations and change events

  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the site team

  • Mentor junior team members as the project grows

Requirements:

  • Proven QS or SQS experience within civil engineering or infrastructure

  • Strong procurement expertise and NEC contract knowledge

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent)

  • Professional membership (RICS/CICES) desirable

  • Commercially astute, proactive, and collaborative
