ASD Classroom Teacher SEN School Hackney, North East London Veritas are working with a special educational needs school located in Hackney that specialise in working with students aged 4 - 16 who have ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and/or SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). They are looking for an ASD (SEN) classroom teacher who is able to teach secondary aged SEN students. This role is open to: unqualified teachers and qualified teachers those with or without a degreeSome of the key qualities we are looking for are: experienced and energetic practitioner with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment, and positive behaviour management strategies e.g TEACCH, SCERTS, PECS and Intensive Interaction to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils with autism who have learning difficulties have experience teaching secondary aged children is preferred but not essential highly motivated, innovative person with enthusiasm and commitment excellent interpersonal and communications skills the proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi professional teamThe successful candidate will: benefit from excellent teaching support and leadership in and outside of the classroom develop as a leader of learning through career management and personally tailored, in-depth professional development be supported by a wider team of professionals to ensure our pupils thrive, have fun and maximise their potential.
