Our client, a renowned name in the aerospace sector, is looking for an experienced Project Planner to join their team on a short-term contract. This role is based in Whiteley and requires onsite presence for two days per week. The initial term is three months, serving as a cover for sickness leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, report, and manage detailed plans for Project Managers, liaising with Work Package Managers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all plans comply with standard procedures.
- Develop project plans and associated costs, capturing all work necessary to achieve project objectives within the Business Case.
- Plan, create, and maintain project schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), monitoring and reporting progress accordingly.
- Collect, correlate, and evaluate project progress data to ensure accurate measurement against the schedule and plan.
- Provide accurate and timely progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyse project performance and Critical Path, reporting status and potential issues to the project manager.
- Identify and suggest cost-saving opportunities within the project.
- Attend progress review meetings.
- Continuously improve planning procedures and provide training to other planning and project management staff.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project planning using SAP and Microsoft Project Professional 2019.
- Knowledge of the project environment, ideally within aerospace or a technical background such as air traffic control (ATC).
- Proven analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within project teams at all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Recognised Project Professional qualification.
- In-depth understanding of Activity Management principles.
- Understanding of associated procedures, including inter-company trading agreements, project finance, and settlement to fixed assets.
