Senior Configuration Engineer

Our client, a leading defence company, is looking for Configuration Engineers to join their team on a contract basis.

Position: Senior Configuration Engineer

Duration: 6-month initial contract

The Senior Configuration Engineer supports the Configuration Manager on projects, responsible for product definition and configuration management of either minor projects or major parts of larger projects. The role requires initiative, a high level of orderliness, and a focus on quality to maintain the integrity of product design elements.

Tasks include:

• Reflecting engineering input into design definitions using the Windchill PLM tool, through the change process.
• Managing correct design definitions for multiple product variants and implementing engineering changes appropriately.
• Reviewing engineering changes to ensure compliance with business processes and approval controls, and making acceptance or rejection decisions.
• Preparing draft configuration management documentation for review by the Configuration Manager.
• Preparing for configuration meetings by providing data to stakeholders ahead of scheduled meetings.
• Ensuring control of design definitions across development, production, and in-service phases, providing status reports to customers.
• Establishing working relationships with key stakeholders and acting as the day-to-day contact for project and engineering teams.
• Supporting project areas with guidance on engineering change processes suitable for the product lifecycle.
