Principal Designer / CDM Consultant
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen (flexible / hybrid working)
Salary: 40,000 - 55,000 + benefits
Sector: Construction Consultancy - Property, Education, Industrial

We are working on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy that is expanding their Project & Programme Services team. They are looking to appoint a Principal Designer / CDM Consultant to support their growing portfolio of diverse and high-profile projects.

This role will focus on the delivery of CDM 2015 Principal Designer duties, alongside wider construction health and safety responsibilities across sectors including education, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver CDM Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations.

Provide Health & Safety consultancy services across the full project lifecycle.

Produce and maintain pre-construction information, H&S files, and related documentation.

Review and advise on design risk management and contractor compliance documentation.

Interface with clients, designers, and contractors, offering guidance and leadership on compliance.

Support business development and contribute to bids, proposals, and repeat work opportunities.

Remain informed on relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

Professional background in design or construction with a relevant qualification.

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum).

Membership of APS and/or IOSH preferred.

Proven experience in a similar Principal Designer or CDM advisory role.

Excellent working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and other related legislation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with digital project tools.
