Senior Litigation Lawyer

Location: South East

Rate: 60 - 65 per hour (Interim/Umbrella)

Working: Hybrid Working

A Senior Litigation Lawyer is required to join a small local authority on a locum basis for an initial 3 months with the view to extension until the new year.

Litigation Lawyers in the team are asked to demonstrate an understanding of the local government legal framework, including both civil and criminal litigation, and to have a broad knowledge of both.

  • Contract and commercial disputes
  • Debt recovery
  • Trading standards
  • Judicial review
  • Property and housing enforcement and possession
  • Education and special educational needs
  • Environmental issues
  • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise the key points of relevant case law and legislation in a client friendly way
  • Ability to undertake own advocacy at crown and county courts

The role can be remote working; however, you will need to attend court for advocacy on behalf of the council 1-2 times per week in the South-East.
