Job Description

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a FTSE 100 organisation that contributes to international defence to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a 12-month contract, on a hybrid basis from its Plymouth site.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role comes with an hourly rate up to 68 per hour.



Key skills required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role

  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles of Steam & Condensate, Industrial Gases, Fresh Water, Demineralised Water, HVAC, Domestic Water services etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of BREEAM, DREAM, and Building Regs.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy or experience of working within a contractor design environment, managing a small team of engineers.
  • Knowledge of the design lifecycle
  • Preferably Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IMechE or working towards CEng.



Location, day rate and timeframe of the Senior Mechanical Engineer role

  • An hourly rate up to 68 per hour
  • Inside IR35
  • Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)
  • 12 month contract
