Opportunity:

Are you looking to break into your first consulting role? Or maybe you're looking for a new challenge at an internationally recognised multidisciplinary firm? Either way, our client is looking to bring in a new Consultant Ecologist to join and expand their Birmingham office, contributing to the teams overall positive and diverse group of like-minded ecologists. As the new consultant ecologist, you'll be trusted with the responsibility of overseeing your own assigned projects, conducting a variety of surveys and helping to promote nature positive and biodiversity aiding practices throughout your work. On top of all this, our client is devoted to the welfare of its employees, so much so that they have now adopted a 4-day working week! This means every week, you'll finish on Thursday and have more time spend with friends & family, pursuing personal interests or just decompressing, all whilst maintaining a 5-day pay rate!

Responsibility:

As the new consultant ecologist at the Birmingham office, your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on ecological "pain points" as well as strategies to overcome and improve issues.
  • Complete a range of various surveys, including UKHabs and protected species
  • Prepare a number of reports, including EcIAs, PEAs and BNG assessments
  • Work alongside a multidisciplined team, including arborists and landscape planners

Requirements:

To be considered for this consultant ecologist role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Ecology, environmental science or a similar discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience working within an ecological consultancy setting
  • Experience with a variety of surveys, assessments and reports including familiarity with EIA and simple EcIAs would be advantageous
  • Be a member of a relevant professional body e.g. CIEEM
  • Familiar with UKHabs classification and BNG
  • Hold or be working towards at least one protected species license
  • Hold a full UK drivers license
