Location: Napier House, 36 Napier Road, Luton, LU1 1RG
Hours: Sunday from 8:30am to 2:30pm
Hourly Rate: £14.50 per hour
Contract Duration: 12-week probationary period, with the potential for a permanent role

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join the team at Napier House, a probation center located in Luton. This position is a Temporary-to-Permanent role, where the successful candidate will start with an 12-week probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals for residents, adhering to dietary requirements and maintaining high standards of nutrition.
  • Kitchen Hygiene: Ensure that the kitchen, equipment, and utensils are clean and compliant with food safety regulations.
  • Stock Control: Assist with managing inventory, placing orders, and ensuring that kitchen supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a team, assisting other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal service.
  • Food Presentation: Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Previous experience as a Chef in a similar setting (institutional kitchens, large-scale catering, or care facilities).
  • Knowledge of Food Safety: Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and practices.
  • Dependability: Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check is required and can be arranged by the recruitment agency.
