Timeplan Education is seeking a Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Bushey that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, well suited to individuals with experience in SEN or SEMH or those with personal experience and a strong passion for working with vulnerable young people.
Support students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with teaching staff to tailor support to individual student needs
Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (or lived experience)
A calm, confident, and adaptable approach to behaviour and emotional challenges
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students
Team players who can also work independently when needed
A genuine desire to help students overcome barriers and succeed
Graduates in Psychology, Education, or a related field
Considering a PGCE, Master's, or PhD in SEN, Education, or Child Psychology
Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers, Support Workers, or Pastoral Support Staff
Passionate about inclusive education and supporting mental health in schools
Competitive pay: 100- 120 per day, depending on experience
