Are you an experienced Estimator looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to join our team in Cardiff. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring accurate and competitive tenders, while supporting the wider construction and commercial teams.
What You'll Be Doing
Tender & Estimating Responsibilities
Manage the tender process to meet tight deadlines
Accurately measure works using both CAD tools and manual methods
Produce tenders using Causeway Estimating software
Generate accurate prime costs for each project
Identify potential risks and opportunities early in the process
Highlight any inconsistencies or issues in contract documentation
Prepare clear and thorough handover documents for the construction team
Collaboration & Relationship Building
Build strong relationships with clients and design teams
Develop a high-quality, reliable supply chain
Collaborate closely with senior staff and contribute to team success
Promote a culture of open, effective communication internally and externally
Ongoing Development & Support
Continuously improve your technical knowledge and financial skills
Keep cost data current and relevant
Embrace and support the use of modern IT systems and software
Seek and apply feedback from the construction team to improve future tenders
Follow and represent our company brand and ethos
What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in an Estimating role within construction
Proficient with Causeway Estimating (or similar systems)
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction processes
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Personal Attributes
Self-motivated, persistent, and reliable
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Flexible and adaptable approach
Common sense and sound judgement
A full UK driving licence is essential
