Site Engineer

Job Title: Site Engineers - Major Highway Project
Location: Gloucester, UK
Rate: 430 - 450 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 9-12 Months
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Freelance

We are urgently seeking multiple experienced Site Engineers for a major highways infrastructure project based in Gloucester. This is a high-profile contract involving extensive earthworks and drainage, offering the chance to work on a nationally significant scheme.

• 
  Supervise and manage on-site engineering tasks related to earthworks and drainage packages
• 
  Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications
• 
  Conduct setting out duties using modern surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, Total Station)
• 
  Ensure works are completed in compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
• 
  Coordinate with subcontractors, supervisors, and the client's engineering team
• 
  Maintain up-to-date site records, including as-builts and quality assurance documentation

• 
  Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure/highways projects (ideally including HS2, Smart Motorways, or similar scale)
• 
  Strong background in earthworks and drainage
• 
  Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent)
• 
  Valid CSCS card and other relevant site certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CAT & Genny, First Aid desirable)
• 
  Proficient with AutoCAD and modern surveying instruments
• 
  Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• 
  Able to start immediately

  This role is inside IR35 - engagement through an umbrella company is required
• 
  Long-term freelance opportunity with the potential to move across packages or regions upon project phases
